Xu Cun's mother-in-law Xu Honglian prepares steamed buns for relatives and friends at her new apartment in a relocation community in Gulang, northwest China's Gansu Province, Feb. 7, 2018. Xu Cun, with a disabled husband ill in bed and mother-in-law over 70, is the backbone of her family. Before this year's Spring Festival, Xu and her family members were busy with home moving. With the help of local government's poverty relief project, Xu spent less than 40,000 yuan (about 6,314 U.S. dollars) on building, decorating and furnishing her new apartment of 100 square meters in a relocation community.
